The Guardian

Tama can defeat almost anything. Unfortunately, you can't stab a coronation.

After surviving the ancient ruins of Muosil, Tama and Saki return to Drestor expecting a moment of peace.

Instead, Regent Alissa arrives with the royal guard and a demand Tama has spent her entire life trying to avoid:

Take the throne.

Tama would rather fight goblins. Saki would rather find a clever way around the problem. Unfortunately, neither option is going to save them this time.

While Tama is dragged toward a crown she never wanted, Saki discovers there is one battlefield all her schemes have left her completely unprepared for: love.

Then Mantheria makes her move.

The ancient dragon is powerful enough to brush Saki aside like nothing, old enough to remember secrets everyone else has forgotten, and far too interested in Tama's future. If Tama wants to protect her friends and survive what comes next, being the strongest ninja in the kingdom will not be enough.

For once, she may have to become the one thing she never wanted to be.

Queen.
